Molly

Obraz
Hello Everyone! I hope you haven't got bored with the topic of autism and similar disorders. I use the holiday season for films on this subject and I already have two books planned that I would like to read.  Today I am going to tell you about the first movie about autism that I watched - "Molly". Surprisingly, watching a movie very often, we do not notice how in many movies the subject of people belonging to the spectrum appears, of course the standard example is "Forrest Gump" or the character of Sheldon from one of the most famous series "The Big Bang Theory".  But to the point, back to Molly. Be warned there are spoilers. It is a very engaging and warm movie, I would call it. The title Molly is a 28-year-old autistic girl who wants to enjoy life in handfuls. However, at the very beginning we meet her brother - Buck, he is a socially active and successful young man who one day receives a call from the center where Molly is located. Doctors inform hi

ADHD

Hello Everyone! Another disorder that I want to tell you about is ADHD. ADHD is also known as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Its causes are not fully known. It is known, however, that ADHD develops in children up to the age of 7, and although its symptoms subside or may even disappear over time, there are cases of ADHD in adults.  A person with ADHD is characterized by constant problems with maintaining social norms and respecting the rights of others. It is estimated that ADHD affects 3-8 percent of children 7-13 years old.  There are 3 types of ADHD. First: ADHD with a predominance of hyperactivity and impulsivity. The first type usually prevails in boys. They are hyperactive, impulsive, they cannot sit on the bench during lessons. They are impatient, stopping when other people talk. They also do not think about how their behavior influences others, whether it can make someone feel bad. However, ADHD is also associated with attention and concentration disorders. It is thes

Rett syndrome

Hello Everyone! Today I'm going to tell you about a disorder that I recently started reading about-Rett Syndrome. Only recently have I become interested in this topic and in the near future I want to watch a movie called "Silent Angels", which introduces the issue of Rett Syndrome. Rett syndrome is an inherited genetic disorder that was first described in 1966 by the Austrian pediatrician Andreas Rett.  Rett syndrome is an extremely insidious disease. It attacks after a few or even several months of proper child development, it affects almost exclusively girls. After a period of normal growth and development, it gradually slows down. Initially, the child loses control of his hands, then brain development deteriorates, walking difficulties, epilepsy and intellectual disability begin. There are currently no effective treatments for Rett syndrome - not even the symptoms themselves.  The effects of the disease can only be mitigated by long-term, systematic and difficult reha

Asperger's Syndrome

Hello everyone! As I mentioned in my previous blog, today I will tell you about Asperger's Syndrome. Asperger's Syndrome is a developmental disorder known as a milder form of autism. People affected by this disorder perceive the world in a different way, which does not mean worse or better - rather equally interesting and beautiful. Asperger's syndrome belongs to the so-called developmental disorders on the autism spectrum. It is a pervasive developmental disorder that begins in early childhood.  Parents often do not notice the symptoms of Asperger's syndrome in their children. They justify changes in their behavior by their difficult age, character or unusual interests. The physical development of children with Asperger is normal, symptoms are not immediately apparent, but only after the child starts talking, and sometimes even later. Interestingly, people with Asperger Syndrome learn faster than their peers. There is no cure for Asperger's Syndrome - it is not a

Autism

Hello everyone! I was supposed to write blogs, but in the last few weeks a new topic appeared in my life that fascinated me a lot. As part of my studies, I participate in classes in the teaching specialty, one of this year's classes is devoted to working with students who are problematic. During the classes, we talk about autism, Asperger’s syndrome, ADHD and other dysfunctions. I think most of these names are known to you, but I will try to briefly introduce them to you.  Autism is not a disease but a brain development disorder characterized by impaired social relationships. Autism cannot be cured. Autism most often manifests itself in the first three years of life and affects about 30 out of 10,000 people. This disorder appears four times more often in boys than in girls.  People with autism have difficulty understanding other people's behavior and often find it difficult to understand how other people feel and what they mean. Making friends and getting along in everyday si
