New Year's Eve

Hello everyone!   Today's blog will break the Christmas theme. Due to the fact that we have New Year's Eve today, I decided to try to present you some cool ideas on how to celebrate it.   Holidays - today it's late to organize something, but maybe it's a good idea for next year. It is true that trips to New Year's Eve are not the cheapest, but you can be tempted by the sea or mountains. Or maybe go crazy and fly to warm countries? Forget about everyday life and lie on the beach in the Philippines.   Movie night - for people who prefer to stay at home, you can always choose the movies you need to see with your friends. All night in front of the TV, in a blanket with wine or other warming drink is a great idea.   Costume party - you can change an ordinary party into a fun full of magic and wonderful characters. Instead of having a house party, organize a costume party and become someone you always wanted to be for one night.   Admission for 24 for fr

Christmas traditions part 1

Hello  everyone !   Today the topic will be completely different. I will not talk about traveling but about holidays. Yesterday in Poland was the last holiday day, celebrated by few people and sporadically called the third holiday. In the next few blogs I would like to introduce you to Christmas traditions.   I will start with the most well-known Christmas customs, which are deeply rooted in Polish society.   Preparations for Christmas have been going on since the first days of December. Gingerbread, patties and “uszka” (small  dumplings  usually filled with flavourful wild forest  mushrooms  and/or minced meat) have been baked in many homes since the beginning of Advent.  Advent  is a season of the  liturgical year  observed as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the  Nativity of Jesus  at  Christmas . In Poland, the most important day of Christmas is Christmas Eve. It is a day when the whole family gathers to eat together in the evening,

How to rent a car part 2

Hello everyone! Let's continue the last topic. This time, things to consider when choosing different rental options. Sometimes, you might be able to rent a car for dirt-cheap, but it might actually end up costing you more in the long run. These very cheap rates usually mean that you get only the barest minimum of insurance, and also pay the highest surcharge.  Basic insurance means that if something not covered by it happens, you might have to pay a lot of money from the surcharge, and that is sure to ruin your holidays. If you decide to take the higher rate, you won't have any such problems-your insurance is going to cover anything short of damage caused by negligence or driving under influence, and that's both dangerous and illegal, so you should never do that anyway. Most of the time, regardless of the rate you choose, the fuel policy will be full/full, as in-you have to return the car with it's fuel tank full, just as you took it. If you won't, you

How to rent a car part 1

Hello everyone! Today I'd like to begin the topic of how to rent a car. Renting a car on holidays is a great convenience, as it gives you the much-needed independence-you don't have to look up how local public transport works, nor worry about not making it on time. With a rental car, you can go wherever you please, whenever you please. That being said, I'd like to show you the things that I consider to be the most crucial to pay attention to when renting a car. Things to keep in mind: You have to choose where and when do you want to rent the car, and also where do you want to give it back-dropping the car somewhere else than where you picked it up usually costs extra. You also have to carefully think everything through, so you won't be late for either picking the car up or dropping it off-being late might cost you, and in the case of being late for the pick up-even void your reservation. Some car rental agencies offer free shuttle service from the airpor

How to find the best accommodation

Obraz
Hello everyone! I hope you are ready for a new dose of travel advice. Today we will deal with a very important topic, namely where and how to search for accommodation. I will tell you what to look for when choosing a place to stay. Above all, I recommend booking.com, as it is a very simple search engine for hotels, hostels and boarding houses, and we can find everything there at reasonable prices. The second website I often use is Airbnb, but in my opinion this search engine is much less transparent and less comfortable to use. That's why I will mainly focus on booking.com. Of course, the beginning is very easy, we choose our destination, how many people are we travelling with, and the days we want to stay. We have many filters to choose from, plus we can sort the proposed accommodations, obviously I sort from the lowest to the highest price. I would also like to tell you what to take notice of when looking for accommodation. First of all, at least for me, price

We buy the first plane ticket!

Hello everyone! Today I'll show you how to book plane tickets. I'll use Ryanair, one of the cheapest airlines, as an example. First, you have to sign up for an account. You can do it now, or later, when you've already chosen the flight and all the options. Choose the type of your flight-one way, or return. Next, pick your airport of departure, and your destination. When you pick your airport of departure, you'll see which destinations are available from this airport. Afterwards, choose the dates of your flight (or flights, in the case of a return flight). You'll now see prices, which vary depending on the date of the flight. Then, choose the number and age of the passengers, and carry on to the next part. Here, you'll see different flight options. The cheapest one gives you only a randomly selected seat (most likely the middle one), and one small cabin bag. The pricier options offer additional baggage, priority when boarding the plane, choice

Where and how to look for flights

Obraz
In today’s post we start to organize our journey. When the crazy idea of vacation comes into our minds, we need to think about where, how and when we want to go out into the world. That’s why today I will tell you how to search for flights on the Internet. My favorite and in my opinion the best flight search engine is Skyscanner. Here is the link for the page: https://www.skyscanner.pl . This search engine is very clear and easy to use. I sincerely recommend it. Its three biggest pros are: You can get a preview of whole month which allows you to compare flight prices on different days. You can also choose the cheapest month. You can choose a whole country as your start or destination.             After you click search, you get a list of cities sorted by price: As a destination you can choose 'Everywhere' (it’s my favorite function).             After we click search, we get a list of countries sorted by price: Besides Skyscanner there are many other flight sea

Hello to everyone! This is my first blog post, so I’ll start by introducing myself. My name is Marta, I’m 22 years old. I study Italian philology at University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. I am a very cheerful and outgoing person. Talkativeness, independence and ambitiousness are other characteristics that describe me. I am an italophile. I love everything that is related to Italy: Italian food, history, culture, art and music. In addition, I also have other hobbies such as dancing, singing, swimming, French and many others. One of my hobbies that is currently developing the most is traveling. I’m mad about this. I adore visiting new places, discovering stories, culture, customs and cuisines of different countries. I have already visited several countries, such as Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Ukraine, Lithuania and the Czech Republic. Just preparing a trip is a great adventure. I can spend countless hours planning the travel, looking
